How to Improve Your English Reading

How to Improve Your English Reading

To improve your English reading, you should, first of all, choose something you feel important or interesting to read. Don't try to read everything. You should begin with those written in simple English. Don't read those which prove difficult for you at the very beginning.
While reading, don't read too slowly or look up every new word you meet with. After reading a passage and having its main idea in mind, you may turn back and read it again. This time you read it slowly and look up some new words if necessary.
Keep on reading in this way and you'll surely make progress little by little.

Annual Expenses on Learning English

Annual Expenses on Learning English

It is well known that English learning is fairly important to the student, but also it is a money hunter. The Graph of Annual Expenses aims to show us the fact that daily study has constituted a yearly large sum of money. That is, students are, day by day, challenging the knowledge from a sea of reference hooks, cassette tapes, CDs and even VCD.

Buying books is always the biggest sum of a student's expense, which has ranged from 10 to 60 RMB yuan during the latest decades. What' s more evident, it can be found in 1999 that VCD is beneficial for students to better their English. Perhaps VCD may help students to improve listening comprehension. Therefore, they have spent 50 RMB yuan to buy VCD.

No one can deny the fact that CDs have something to do with learning English. In most situations, they are helpful to improve our understanding of foreign cultures, which are often considered difficult and tedious for students to learn form the textbooks. Compared with this, listening tapes is rather boring, so in 1999 a student spent less than 20 RMB yuan to buy tapes.

However, much money does not mean obtaining a better acquisition of a foreign language. In a long run, I am determined to make full use of available tools to master English, and try to make all the books, CDs, VCDs well - worth their expenses.

This IS Restaurant

This IS Restaurant

As the local dining scene burgeons, patterns begin to emerge. Restaurateurs have the option of starting small, luring a targeted group of patrons with their mid-range fare; another option would be to go the whole hog and splash out on a multi-million yuan space in a swanky location with prices to match.
A concept is another tool often employed, sometimes in tandem with the two strategies above. These joints brainstorm for ages and come up with a premise they hope is so irresistible it pulls in the crowds in droves.
IS Restaurant is hoping they have latched on to a winning formula.
Bordering on the ultra-pretentious, the New Factories establishment is decidedly focused on putting the "experience" in "dining experience." Part art concept, part fine-diner, there are moments when it is not exactly apparent what it is trying to be.
There are restaurants that immediately appeal to the visual senses, wowing you as soon as you walk in; sometimes with palatial decor, sometimes with sheer size. IS has gone for the cold, minimalist approach that exudes art-crowd cool.
It is no wonder, as the restaurant is the brainchild of General Manager Weng Yinlan and her husband, who is in the art business. Having started the concept in her native Guilin two years ago, the former advertising executive is confident that the concept will be a hit locally as well. "We do creative, fusion dishes that are appealing to the eye as much as they taste good," she said. "None of our serving ware is mass produced. Besides custom-made plates, we also use a lot of natural products, like pine needles for decorative plating."
"Some things, like acorns, are things that I've picked up myself from the countryside back in Guilin. You could never find stuff like this in Shanghai."
The design lives up to its billing. Words do little justice to the creative use of space on the top floor of this refurbished factory. Dried roots and branches form non-imposing barriers that partition the dining area; the centerpiece is a long, mirrored table with imposing, tall-backed chairs forming booths without being sealed off.
Neo-classical teapots and dings (an ancient Chinese tri-legged vessel) are displayed prominently with the similar furniture. Weng said that plans are afoot to hold art exhibitions and performances in the restaurant.

Whether she realized it or not, she was already right. Each dish was a show in itself albeit with some decidedly over the top. The opening act of mushroom soup came served on different plates for each guest. While the bed of rose petals was sweet, the flaming plate was a bit much. The soup itself was not creamy enough and weak.

The emphasis, however, is on healthier dishes, and the sliced cucumbers with walnuts, caviar and wasabi was delightfully refreshing and a stimulant at the same time. The same went for the simple garden salad.

The tasty pork cordon bleu (48 yuan/US$6.30) was not oily and came with a mild pepper sauce, although the addictive spiced beef served in a bubbling bowl of oil smacked of tenderizer. The steamed chicken dumplings came served hanging from a small tree, making you wonder what the point was. The meat was passable although the portions were just not enough.

Another flaming dish was served, this time seven kinds of fungi in a creamy sauce served in aluminum foil (98 yuan). It was a spectacle really, nearly eclipsing the mushrooms within.

The fried rice dish was somewhat odd. Intended to resurrect a dying recipe, it kind of halted the forward thinking nature of the meal preceding it.

It was great - a simple, rustic flavor - but jarring due to the lack of extravagance.

Dessert was truer to form, with pear slices coated in muesli. An excellent snack, the roughage aids digestion and exactly what was needed to end the meal.

IS is interesting to say the least. There is no denying the cool factor, which is what dining experiences should be about. The food is better than average, and the "show" is constantly updated to keep things fresh.

As it stands, the restaurant is a novel luxury, not intended to merely fill the stomach and satisfy the palate but more to introduce an avant-garde culture and immerse appreciative diners.

Pirates of the Caribbean

-----"Pirates 3" fails to set new opening box office mark

LOS ANGELES, May 27 (Xinhua) -- The latest film of Walt Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise failed to set new opening box office record in North America this weekend, largely due to the lingering popularity of superhero Spider-Man and a computer-generated green ogre named Shrek among moviegoers.
But "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" still sold an estimated 126.5 million dollars worth of tickets in the United States and Canada during the three-day period, well on its way to setting a new domestic Memorial Day weekend box office record, distributer Walt Disney Pictures said Sunday.
The Disney film is the third blockbuster in three weeks in North American theaters to break major movie sales records, and industry observers note that the red hot summer season has only started. Several major pictures are slated for release in the next few weeks.
"At World's End" is also poised to have the biggest worldwide opening of all time, expected to gross an estimated 205.5 million dollars through Sunday, according to Disney. If including ticket sales for Monday, the company anticipates, the film would beat the industry record of 381.7 million dollars, currently held by "Spider-Man 3."
"We're thrilled to report that the film is on track to have the biggest worldwide opening in movie history," said Mark Zoradi, a Walt Disney Studios president. "From every corner of the world, the film is playing like gangbusters, and we think that this enthusiasm and good will is going to continue for a long time to come."
"Shrek the Third" came in second this weekend with an estimated51 million dollars for a cumulative two-week take of 215.7 million dollars, according to Los Angeles-based box office tracker Media by Numbers Sunday.
"Spider-Man 3" brought in 13.7 million dollars to take third over the weekend. The superhero action film has so far made a whopping 303.3 million dollars at the box office since its record-breaking debut three weeks ago.
The thriller "Bug," starring Ashley Judd as a lonely waitress who pairs up with a paranoid Gulf War veteran who sees bugs in a spooky motel room, came in fourth with 3.3 million dollars, while the comedy "Waitress" came in fifth with 3.1 million dollars.
The dozen top-grossing films earned a combined 193.3 million dollars over the weekend, up 2.6 percent from the same period last year.

Car model craze in China

Car model craze in China

At auto shows in China, it's not the sky-high priced luxury cars that attract the visitors, but the models standing by the vehicles.
Models pose around a car at the Auto Qingdao 2007 exhibition in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, May 18, 2007.
On the opening day of the Auto Qingdao 2007, visitors flocked around car models, and photographers took numerous pictures of them as they change to various poses in front of the cars. These beautiful showgirls, usually in short and sexy outfits, have quickly become an indispensable part of Chinese car exhibitions for years.
Men are attracted to beautiful women, but what surprises many is how crazy the auto show visitors could be for models. Unless the car is a 10-million-yuan Bentley or Maserati, there won't be big audience around the booth without gorgeous models.
It's rather an exhibition of beauties than cars. "I'm here to see beautiful girls. It would be dull and unattractive if they didn't have models," said a visitor at the Qingdao auto show.

Blog-Related Analysis

Blog-Related Analysis

Whether or not you have a blog, the related analysis is important to track how your business and brand are being discussed to better understand your consumers' perspective:

  • Monitor the Web for references to your brand, key officers, and major competitors:
Set up tracking on Google News Alerts, Technorati, and PubSub. You must be able to react to relevant topics brewing in the blogosphere before they become full-blown issues. Involve PR in this process, and respond quickly and decisively to engage bloggers.
  • Analyze comments, links, and trackbacks (define) to determine the relative importance of audience perceptions. Use tools such as Intelliseek's BlogPulse or a firm such as BuzzMetrics. This analysis will help determine who the influencers are and what their connectivity level is.
Analyze broader category or product information. Consumers may discuss products in general terms, without using brand names or model numbers. So narrow tracking may not reveal the full picture. Monitor the information landscape to determine the macro trends and issues that influence buyers and the language they use. A food producer may check for terms such as "diet" and "low carb," for example. According to Julie Woods, Cymfony EVP, "Ongoing trend analysis examines the conversations to find relevant information that can be used to guide marketing strategy." It can reveal pain points, consumer language around your product, market changes, and competitive actions. In turn, these findings can direct your marketing and creative approach. They may also reveal other terms you should be tracking.
  • Blogs create more opportunities, and more challenges. As with any communications strategy, consider what you hope to achieve from consumer engagement. Don't ignore blogs until something blows up! Use them as another way to listen to and involve customers. People talk about you in the blogosphere; use the opportunity to influence the conversation.

Choosing The Right Keywords

Choosing The Right Keywords

Right keywords is making your blogger get the good position in search engine.
Arguably, keyword selection is the single most important stage in the entire optimization process. If you do not choose the correct keyword phrases you will not maximize your ROI on this campaign. I mention ROI and use it as a reminder that keyword selection is not necessarily about looking for the most searched phrases. A profitable optimization is one which produces the greatest return on investmënt for the time and monëy that are available to put towards it.

Merchants bank approved to buy control of fund venture

Merchants bank approved to buy control of fund venture

China Merchants Bank Co., the nation's seventh-largest, won government approval to buy 33.4 percent of an affiliated fund management venture, allowing it to expand its sources of income beyond lending.

Merchants Bank will become the largest shareholder in China Merchants Fund Management Co., the Shenzhen-based company said in a statement today. China Merchants Securities Co. and ING Groep NV's asset management arm each own 33.3 percent of the venture.
China is letting domestic banks expand into broking, fund management and insurance, winding back former premier Zhu Rongji's 1993 restrictions to help them boost profits. Foreign rivals Citigroup Inc. and HSBC Holdings Plc. have started to compete for China's $2.2 trillion of local-currency deposits.
Chinese banks get more than 90 percent of earnings from interest income -- the difference between what they pay depositors and what they charge on loans. That compares with 65 percent overseas, according to China Chengxin International Credit Ratings Co., a domestic credit rating company.
Domestic lenders were allowed in February 2005 to set up fund ventures with foreign investors to develop the nation's capital markets. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., China Construction Bank Corp., and Bank of Communications Ltd. have started such ventures.
China's fund industry almost doubled in size last year as soaring prices drew more investors, reaching 856 billion yuan ($111 billion) of assets under management, according to Shanghai- based research firm Z-Ben Advisors Ltd. The benchmark CSI 300 Index has quadrupled from its July 2005 low.
Shenzhen-based Merchants Fund Management was set up in December 2002 with 20 billion yuan ($2.6 billion) in assets. Merchants Bank bought the stake from China Power Finance Co., China Huaneng Finance Co., Cosco Finance Co. and Merchants Securities, it said today, without giving details on pricing.

A noncommittal attitude

A noncommittal attitude
Nothing hurts more than a noncommittal attitude
'cause I can't find any traces of love.
Don't know when to go further,
and when to let go.
I can't even bring myself to open my arms.
I have to stop here.
After all nothing can go
Beyond a friendship
yet short of a true love.
Rain clouds loom ahead in the distance
I wonder if I am going to cry.
Who is too sentimental, you or me?
I am not convinced,
and start to doubt
whether the man before my eyes
is the true self you used to be?

China Southern Air narrows loss

China Southern Air narrows loss

China Southern Airlines Co., the country's biggest carrier, said its first-quarter loss narrowed 69 percent because of lower fuel costs and higher surcharges. Updated: 2007-04-26 09:27

The carrier posted a loss of 188 million yuan ($24 million), or 0.04 yuan a share, in the three months to March 31, compared with 603 million yuan, or 0.14 yuan, a year earlier, the Guangzhou-based company said in a statement yesterday, using domestic accounting standards. Sales rose 26 percent to 11.9 billion yuan.
China Southern flew about a third of all Chinese airline passengers in the first quarter, as it boosted traveler numbers 17 percent and began receiving 68 new planes this year. The government has also cut jet fuel prices three times in 2007, while keeping ticket surcharges at a level twice as high as a year earlier.
"We forecast robust demand, especially given the rising incomes in China," said Jack Xu, an analyst at Sinopac Securities Asia Ltd. "Going forward, China Southern will see even lower jet fuel expenses. We expect them to return to profit in the second quarter," he added.
China Southern is expanding its fleet about a fifth this year to grab market share, particularly in its home base of Guangdong, China's manufacturing hub and richest province. It is also set to start at least 10 new overseas routes before the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, challenging Air China Ltd., the nation's largest international carrier.
The airline will begin flying between Shanghai and Cebu in the Philippines in June, the Manila-based Star newspaper said today, citing the Philippine consul-general in China.

Passenger Numbers
China Southern flew 12.6 million passengers in the three months ended March, filling 71.4 percent of its seats. Cargo volume rose 4.9 percent to 190,000 tons.
The airline also reported its 2006 earnings to the Shanghai stock exchange eight days ago. Chinese companies often report full-year and first quarter earnings close together as the deadline for both is April 30.
The airline posted its first annual profit in four years in 2006, helped by a stronger yuan and increased traffic. Net income was 188 million yuan, compared with a year-earlier loss of 1.85 billion yuan. The carrier operated a fleet of 309 aircraft at the end of last year.
Overall passenger numbers in China rose 16 percent to 40.9 million in the first quarter, according to the General Administration of Civil Aviation. The country's economy grew 11.1 percent in the period, boosting travel demand.
Shares of China Southern fell 3.3 percent to HK$3.50 in Hong Kong yesterday. The stock has gained 11 percent this year, compared with an 19 percent gain in the 16-member Bloomberg Asia Pacific Airlines Index. The airline's Shanghai-listed stock was suspended on March 23 ahead of a share reform plan.
Fuel Surcharges
China cut the levy on domestic flights of more than 800 kilometers (497 miles) to 80 yuan ($10) each way from Jan. 21. The levy on shorter flights fell to 50 yuan. That compares with 40 yuan and 20 yuan respectively a year earlier. Levies were as much as doubled from Sept. 21 last year before the Jan. 21 cut.
The price of jet fuel averaged $72.11 a barrel in the first quarter in Singapore, 4.7 percent lower than a year earlier, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Hangxiao Steel, Chairman fined for disclosure breach

Zhejiang Hangxiao Steel Structure Co. was fined by China's securities regulator for failing to disclose contracts worth more than 10 times the company's market value that sent the stock price soaring to a record.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission fined Hangxiao 400,000 yuan ($52,000), Chairman Shan Yinmu and President Zhou Jinfa 200,000 yuan each, and three further officials 100,000 each, the company said in a Shanghai Stock Exchange statement.
The penalties underscore the government's attempts to crack down on abuses in a stock market that almost tripled in value in the past year, prompting warnings of a possible bubble by officials including central bank head Zhou Xiaochuan. Small and even money-losing companies have outperformed the benchmark index this year on speculative buying.
Hangxiao Steel said on March 13 that it won 34.4 billion yuan of orders from Angola, five times China's entire exports to the African nation last year. The company's shares surged by the 10 percent daily limit today after the regulator stopped short of questioning whether the contracts are genuine.
The statement "spurred speculation on the stock again," said Zhang Qi, an analyst at Haitong Securities Co. in Shanghai.
Shares of the building materials maker, based in the eastern city of Hangzhou, rose 1.35 yuan to 14.88 yuan at the 11:30 a.m. trading break. The stock has risen more than fourfold this year, giving the company a market capitalization of 3.7 billion yuan.
Misleading Comments
Hangxiao Steel failed to disclose the orders from Angola in newspapers or tell investors about the transaction in due time, the statement said, citing the regulator. Comments by company officials relating to the probe were misleading, it said.
Company director Pan Jinshui told media on April 5 that the regulator's investigation was "basically over" and the company didn't violate disclosure rules, the statement said.
Chairman Shan couldn't be reached for comment immediately. Calls to the company's headquarters in Hangzhou and its factory in Xiaoshan were answered by company officials who declined to give their names or the chairman's whereabouts.
Hangxiao shares rose by the 10 percent limit for six consecutive trading sessions in February before being suspended. On March 13, Hangxiao said it had signed a contract with a Hong Kong-based company to supply building products for projects in Angola.
The orders are worth more than 18 times the company's 2006 revenue. China's exports to Angola totaled $894 million last year, according to the commerce ministry.
Company Apology
The Angola deal may not be fully completed because there are no default clauses in the contract, Hangxiao Steel said on April 2. The contract, which includes supplies of steel structures, door and window frames, may not contribute to earnings for two years, it said in the March 13 statement.
Corruption and accounting scandals, price manipulation and brokerage collapses helped drive China's stock market down by more than half in the four years through July 2005. The benchmark CSI 300 Index has since risen more than fourfold and is up 83 percent this year.
Hangxiao was established in 1994 and is controlled by Shan, who held 37 percent of the company at the end of last year.
In a separate statement, Hangxiao apologized to investors after receiving a notice from the stock exchange criticizing the company and executives for violating disclosure rules.

Spider-man 3

Spider-man 3

Last night I saw a movie, which was called Spider-man 3. I think the spider-man 3 isn't good to see. The spider-man 2 is bettter than the spoder-man3. The great thing about Spiderman 2 (the best of the trilogy) is how focused it was.
But the spider-man 3 movie is good to see.

There is no getting around the fact that Spider-man 3 is the weakest of the three films in the franchise, at least in terms of script and story. As is the case with other superhero sequels, this film suffers, from among other things, introducing too many characters into the mythology.

But the script also has some leaps in logic, a few contrived coincidences and a plot hole or two that seem excusable at first glance, but start to nag after the final credits have rolled. Clocking in at well over two hours, there are times when it feels like a good twenty or thirty minutes have been trimmed from the film in order to make for a more reasonable run time, resulting in a poor sense of character development, and a frantic pace where there should be a bit more exposition.

The first act takes special care to introduce Sandman as a morally complex, tragic villain, but most of that is jettisoned as the story moves into the second and third acts. Likewise, Eddie Brock (Topher Grace), Peter's rival who will eventually don the black costume and become Venom, seems to make a huge leap from annoying twerp to murderous psycho.

The problems that weigh down Spider-man 3 begin to emerge near the end of the first act, as weaknesses in the script begin to pop up. Where the first two films tried to keep things as grounded as possible given the outrageous subject matter, Spider-man 3 throws caution to the wind, throwing the film off balance. Both of the earlier films went out of their way to paint the villains as somewhat believable within the context of the on-screen world. But in this new film, no such attempts are made. And so while it is cool to see Venom, the half-ass explanation of what the creature is carries no weight. Ten minutes after the movie is over, you can't help but start asking questions like, "Where did this thing come from?" And then those questions open up another line of inquiry that starts picking apart all of the ridiculous coincidences that riddle the film.

The biggest problem with Spider-man 3 are two separate sequences that are meant to show how much the new alien costume has effected Peter Parker's personality. The first sequence is silly, and by comparison rather innocuous. But the second scene, involving Peter's attempt to woo new love interest Gwen Stacey (Bryce Dallas Howard), while making Mary Jane jealous, is just plain ridiculous. Comic book purists will hate this scene, and even die-hard fans of the films may find it a bit out of place within the cinematic universe. It is the only scene where the film actually stops being good, and plunges head-first into the toilet.

But despite the problems that plague Spider-man 3, it is still an incredibly fun film. Director Sam Raimi once again delivers the superheroic goods. And in terms of how the action sequences and special effects have been put together this time around, Raimi leaves the first two films in the dust. This is clearly the best of the three from that standpoint, as the action comes alive in sequences that would have been impossible cinematically less than a decade ago. In fact, the action may even be more spectacular than anything you could see in a comic book. Unfortunately, the film never manages to be anything more than a sequel. What made Spider-man 2 such an amazing film was that it managed to emerge from the shadow of its predecessor, standing on its own as a superior movie. Spider-man 3, however, is never able to come out from the massive shadow cast by the first two installments.

When all is said and done, despite the weakness and flaws that are difficult to ignore or avoid, Spider-man 3 manages to deliver some solid entertainment. It is not as good as the first two films, but considering how good those were, it is a tall order to fill.

China stocks break through 4,000 points mark

China stocks break through 4,000 points mark
By Dong Zhixin (chinadaily.com.cn)Updated: 2007-05-09 15:27

China's main stock index hit a fresh all-time high after breaking a key barrier of 4,000 points due to the soaring blue chip stocks.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, the most widely watched indicator of the mainland's stock market, gained 1.60 percent to end at 4,013.08 points, breaching the psychologically important mark of 4,000 for the first time.
That marks a gain of 50 percent so far this year on top of a 130 percent rally in 2006.
Blue chip stocks showed strong performances. China Unicom, the nation's second largest wireless operator, jumped its daily limit of 10 percent to close at 6.35 yuan per share.
Bank of China rose 7.77 percent to 6.10 yuan, while Industrial and Commercial Bank of China was up 5.47 percent to 5.78 yuan.
The surge came after the Shanghai Composite Index was pushed to a new high in the previous session as new investor cash flooded in after the week-long May Day market recess and China's yuan broke the barrier of 7.70 against the US dollar.
The consistent hitting of new highs since January was partly driven by the wave of money brought in by new investors.
Some 4.787 million new A-share trading accounts were opened in April, more than the combined number of the previous two years, statistics from China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation.
The figures for the new accounts are considered a rough indicator for the number of new individual investors entering the market.
Analysts said the market may undergo drastic fluctation after the index breaks the 4,000 point mark, as worries about stock overvaluations build up.
The stocks in the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets are trading at more than 40 times of the firm's earnings per share on average, much higher than developed markets overseas.
The growing bubble in the country's stock market is a concern, said central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan last week, adding he would closely monitor asset prices, the consumer price index and producer price index.
Zhou's remarks added to speculation there could be an interest rate hike as early as next month.
Xie Guozhong, former chief China economist for Morgan Stanley, suggested regulators should come up with certain policies to put the brakes on the surging stock market for the good of long-term economic development and social stability.
"China's equity market is starting to show signs of getting out of control," said Zuo Xiaolei, chief economist of China Galaxy Securities in China Securities Journal on Wednesday
The market rose even after the interest rate was hiked in March, and the bank reserve ratio was raised, said Zuo.
"The neglect of policy and blindly pushing up the equity market fosters a big market risk," he claimed.

beautiful song

Beautiful song
I like this song. I think most people will like this song.
Sing out Loud When Feel Like Singing-Baby ZHANG

Push open the window at night
to say my wishes to the shooting star.
I want a pair of wings
to stay closer to the sun.
I am learning to grow up on my own,
love being my energy,
dreams magic nourishment(营养)
to speed me up into full bloom.
Sing out loud when feel like singing.
Even if no applause shall greet me,
I can still enjoy my courage.
Sing a nice song when feel like singing,
No matter how empty the stage looks,
it will someday brim with waving glow sticks.

When I Wake Up Each Morning
And See you Next to Me
I Know that My Day Will Be All Right
Sometimes it is hard
to put feelings into words
but I want you to know
how you affect me
When I wake up
and see you in the morning
I am so happy
that we are together
I respect you
I admire you
I love you deeply
When I wake up
each morning
and see you next to me
no matter what happens
I know that my day will
be all right

Blog Marketing Strategies

Blog Marketing Strategies
Regardless of your product, blogs can be an integral part of a marketing strategy. This doesn't necessarily mean running out to start one. There are other ways to harness this fast-growing medium's power:

  • Gather market intelligence. Monitor public buzz to determine how your brand and close competitors are faring. Knowing where, why, and how you're being trashed (or praised) in a public forum allows you to respond appropriately -- and quickly. Any angry customer or disgruntled former employee can launch a blog at no cost. They may even get higher search rankings than your brand.
  • Engage bloggers by commenting on key business topics. Read blogs related to your product or company to understand the blogger's perspective and audience. Strategically respond to postings to initiate dialogue. More genuine that a PR pitch, this approach can also help correct misinformation.
  • Advertise on blogs to reach influencials, target a niche audience, or extend a media buy's reach. Though only about 25 percent of Internet users (about 32 million) currently read blogs, they tend to influence other's thinking. Bloglines readers check an average of 20 blogs daily. Informal BlogAds research shows blog readers are high consumers of expensive, well-researched content, such as The Economist and The New Yorker. "Blog advertising can engage an important niche," says Morra Aarons, Edelman VP, "enabling you to reach a critical market segment or to broaden the impact of your marketing spend."Blogs vary in size, approach, and ad opportunities. You can advertise directly on a blog that reaches your target market or through an advertising network such as BlogAds or Pheedo. Banners and text copy must be contextually relevant. As users visit often, it's important to change ad content frequently to prevent impression fatigue. One option is create a dialogue with a series of related ads.
  • Humanize your company with corporate blogs. One or more employees, the CEO included, may blog. Corporate blogs require a level of transparency. As a result, they may not work for all types of companies. Corporate bloggers must have access to, and support from, senior management, PR, and legal.
  • Build business or brand by connecting with consumers. Both small businesses and major corporations can use blogs to build closer relationships with their customers. Best Buy created the entertaining Slothmore Institute. The only connection to Best Buy is the sponsored ads.

Blog-Related Analysis
Whether or not you have a blog, the related analysis is important to track how your business and brand are being discussed to better understand your consumers' perspective:

  • Monitor the Web for references to your brand, key officers, and major competitors:
  1. Set up tracking on Google News Alerts, Technorati, and PubSub. You must be able to react to relevant topics brewing in the blogosphere before they become full-blown issues. Involve PR in this process, and respond quickly and decisively to engage bloggers.
  2. Analyze comments, links, and trackbacks (define) to determine the relative importance of audience perceptions. Use tools such as Intelliseek's BlogPulse or a firm such as BuzzMetrics. This analysis will help determine who the influencers are and what their connectivity level is.
  • Analyze broader category or product information.

Blogs create more opportunities, and more challenges. As with any communications strategy, consider what you hope to achieve from consumer engagement. Don't ignore blogs until something blows up! Use them as another way to listen to and involve customers. People talk about you in the blogosphere; use the opportunity to influence the conversation.

Friends

Friends

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
真正的朋友是一个可以援手帮助并感动你心扉的人。

There's always going to be people that hurt you,so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
别人常常伤害你,所以你该继续付出信任,并小心挑选你下次信任的人。

Make youself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
在你想了解别人也想让别人了解你之前,先完善并了解自己。

Remember:Whatever happens,happens for a reason.
要记住:任何事情的发生都有因有起。

How many people actually have 8 true friends?Hardly anyone I know. But some of us have all right friends and good friends.
有多少人可以拥有八个真正的朋友?就我所知少之又少。但我们会有泛泛之交和好友。
